Then…Craig Erion founded Two Brothers Racing in 1985. I know its late but better late than never right? I have been super busy with prepping for  the 2012 season that existing footage I have been hanging onto has been on hold. I’m currently learning the works of Adobe Premiere Pro and new camera equipment. With what little footage I managed to obtain in this short day out at the Marine base I tossed a few shots together with the GoPro cameras and the 7D.  The military shows are definitely some of my favorite shows to perform at. They offer some of the best crowds that aren’t afraid to get loud. I hope to continue these type of performances all over the country. It’s the least I could do to give back to these great men and women.

I had just happily stepped off an 11+ hour flight from Taipei, Taiwan to LAX and arrived at my door step . I was returning from my trip to Malaysia and I had one thing on my mind,” Twenty-Nine Palms”. I was booked to perform for the Marines for their “Safety Stand-Down”  event in three days and scheduled to arrive in two.  This happens to be one of my favorite shows that I have performed at annually for the past four years.  Prior to leaving for Malaysia I had redone the seals in my Kawasaki zx6r suspension and made a few other changes. I had one day to work on the bike and one day to test it before I had to pack up and head for Twenty-Nine Palms. The Naza Blade 650R that I rode in Malaysia is very different from my Kawasaki that I regularly perform on so putting in some seat time on my Kawasaki was rather important to me. The time difference between Malaysia and southern California is 15 hours and I hadn’t  had enough time to get back on track. With about three hours of sleep each night I managed to get everything prepared, practiced a little and head towards the base thursday night. Before I even had a full night sleep in my own bed I was checking into another hotel. Most people would say it sucks but I love it and if I’m lucky I would get a whopping five hours of rest.

By 5:30 am we were getting checked into the base. I had my couple hours of much needed sleep but was still pretty exhausted. I was making my way to the event area and was spotting people running, others playing basketball.  I snapped out of my tired funk with added respect for those that I was seeing. We were directed to our designated areas and with little motivation at the moment, no sunlight and no warmth. Before we knew it the sun was up and we were getting things prepared for the show. There were several vendors including K&N Filters, Dunlop, MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation), Monster Energy, Race Tech Suspensions, Cal Fire and more.

ICON sent out a ton of give-aways and these marines ate them up.

I gave some stuff away while doing circle wheelies.

There were some Monster can smashes.I found me a pretty blonde to do some stunts around. I was no longer the impressive one.

     My Two Brothers Racing tent was shortly ambushed by a large group of impressed and info hungry  Marines.

 I signed posters for them, took pictures with them,  showed them some of the ICON protective gear that I use. I explained to them how my LEATT neck brace works, answered questions about my motorcycle and gave newly found enthusiast advice.   They all left with a poster, and some literature from my  sponsors like Fasttrak Insurance, Kleen Chain, Two Brothers Racing and ICON. 
Eric and Jef sat and signed until the crowd disappeared.

This guy got ahold of the Monster can that exploded under my rear tire.

The fire fighters showed some of the Marines their way around a fire truck.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation was there promoting and giving the riders and non riders a chance to test their skills on their motorcycle simulator. I highly reccomend this course to all new riders. I took it myself when I first started riding sport bikes and allot of the important knowledge that the instructors teach you will stick with you forever.

I had a blast at Twenty-Nine Palms performing for those of you that have dedicated your lives to serving our country. I cannot express my grattitude enough to you all. I will continue to return and perform for as long as you will have me.

Here are a few photos to walk everyone through my trip.

After the longest flight I have ever been on and hours of only blue ocean in sight,  it was great to finally see land below.

This was the first motorcycle I had seen.

The view of Kuala Lumpur from my hotel room was surreal.

We visited the Naza Auto Mall to check out some of the fancy cars they had.

Also checked out their huge dealership of motorcycles. This one was looking mighty clean.

The riders in Malaysia ride these smaller scooter type motorcycles. They are much cheaper and easier to maneuver through the crazy traffic in the cities. Its not uncommon to see 2 guys on one bike here or even a family of 4 including kids.

I was introduced to the unfamiliar machine I would be using, and hopefully not abusing too much, all weekend. We decided to be friends.

It wasn’t long into the test ride that i started the abusive break-in process. Goodbye license plate holder and tail light. You’re no longer needed. I’m gonna pay for this down the line.

We went downtown to check out the nightlife and have dinner. Someone refered to this as the Malaysian Belaggio. haha

We checked out the Petronas Towers. Famous for being the two tallest towers in Malaysia (not any more) Also the building from the movie “Entrapment”.

The next day we went to the Naza factory to modify the Blade 650 for my liking. She was already equipped with a real purdy 2 Brothers Racing Black Series exhaust and sounded like a beast.

The NAZA Blade 650 is next to impossible to find in the United states and nobody makes parts for stunt riding for these machines. Lucky for me i was able to get the dimensions of the sprocket and my sponsor 5thGearSprockets was able to machine something up for me. The sprocket is a great tool on any stunt bike but i hadn’t ridden this motorcycle before and it has a v-twin motor so I wasn’t sure how it was going to react. The sprocket helped add some TC style to the bike and ended up being a plus to the performance of the Blade650.

With what mechanical skills and knowledge we got to work on the rest of the modifications to the bike. I had to reroute oil lines, bypass some sensors, find out how to turn up the idle, wire the cooling fan to constant (due to the small riding area I had and the very humid temperatures there) dent the gas tank, adjust handle bar positioning, add some ODI handlebar grips, bleed brakes, tune the suspension and set the tire pressure. This bike had very few mods for a stunt bike but was probably the hardest bike I had ever set up. I wasn’t familiar with the mechanics of this bike. I had a whole team of mechanics on hand and ready to help. Only one problem… They couldn’t understand me and I couldn’t understand them. So after a day  at the factory and a translator to help us communicate we managed to prep the bike for its next three days of the hardest riding its ever seen and who knows.. maybe its last. Thank you NAZA factory guys. Amazing job!

The next day the bikes started to roll in heavily. Everything from the 125cc’s to the monster big bikes.

Everything was in its place including the BikePalooza/TBR girls. We were ready for an event.

I was introduced to some of the local stunt riders “Waziboys”. I got to check out some of the small bikes (2 stroke 125cc scooters and 250cc sport bikes)  they use for their stunts. I checked out a few of their performances throughout the weekend. Great group of guys.

I gave the locals some ICON swag and decals and they were quick to put it to use. Some so quick that they didn’t even care to remove the tags.

The Local riders were stoked to get their hands on anything i had to offer. Some were very interested in my LEATT neck brace. I explained to them how it worked and let them try it on.

It was great to see that I had supporting fans in a place I hadn’t ever been. Nice shirt buddy.

Time for me to go do work. The humidity was brutal before I even got on the bike. Bring on the sweat.

The crowds were heavy and they weren’t afraid to let me know what they liked.

I did shows under the tent and in the parking lot of the event. By the end of the weekend I was getting real comfortable on the bike and pulling out more tricks. This one brought me back to the old days. Riding wheelies off the pegs using nothing but precision throttle control since I had no handbrake. Good times.

The bike got tired of my continuous abusive riding style and decided on day 2 to show me that I better maintain some respect. I was given a good buck right off from a fast burnout turn high side. Luckily the factory mechanics had the parts replaced and the bike was ready to give me another shot 10 minutes later.

I was later scolded by the bike once again. The team of mechanics had  put gasoline into the bike as I had requested. I forgot to specify how much and I soon found out the hard way that the tank was full to the top. I went out for a show and was instantly bathing in gasoline which burned like a fire between my legs. I’ve experienced a bit of gasoline to the rear end before but woah woah woah. Whats in this Malaysian gasoline? I was soaked in gasoline from the waist down and there was a small swimming pool of it in the dent of the tank. It was some of the most intense burning sensations I had ever experienced. I wanted to toss the bike down and run for the closest shower. The crowed was all pumped and there were some VIP people there to see me ride. I managed to keep my composure and stick it out. Riding for as long as I could bear it (about 15 minutes) then just when I thought I was free to go find relief i was swarmed by fans and photographers. The photos and autographs lasted about 30 more minutes. The nearest source of water to clean myself up was a portable restroom with a shower. Definitely one of the worst showers of my life but oh so relieving. Its ironic that theres a little devil with a “T” on the door waiting to greet me.

The Two Brothers Racing booth was just one of many at the event, but seemed to be consistently flooded with people. Two Brothers offers a wide range of “Top Level” products. Everything from a variety of slip on exhaust to full systems, Juice Box fuel controllers, custom bike stands, apparel, Tony Carbajal signature series exhaust and much more. The media was all over and everything went viral very fast. NTV7 News, BCM magazine, BikePalooza TV and many more.

The models were on stage for contests and photos.

The TBR booth was equipped with a dyno machine to perform live tests for the crowd. Here are just a few V.I.P’s watching Two Brothers own Mark Jacobs running this Suzuki GSXR on the dyno.

The rain fell really heavy for over an hour.

Its ok because I had umbrellas that came with girls.

I performed several more times leaving the NAZA Blade 650 with a rear tire that was shredded to the rim and a signature on the gas tank. They plan on putting the bike up on display at the factory. Very cool.

At the end of the weekend i had burned through my shoes. I was soaked in water, gasoline and sweat. The pavement was littered with about 2 tires worth of rubber from the screaming 650R. The fans were pumped, I was still walking and the bike was still running. Thats what I call a successful event.

Off to the hotel which had one of the best showers ever!!

The next day was the journey home. Big thanks to all of the people of Malaysia for welcoming me out to your country and cheering for me. I hope to be seeing much more of the Two Brothers Racing product in Malaysia now.

In the Month of July and September i was booked to perform at New Jersey Motorsports Park for both the Rolex Series Grand AM event as well as the A.M.A Superbike final. Its a really long trip there. I decided to recruit a local guy i ride with name Kyle Rapport to help with the travels and perform with me. Even with 2 drivers the trip takes 2 days to get there. Stopping briefly only for fuel and food. Seeing as how I would have to return to NJ shortly after this trip we decided to make an adventure out of this trip. Stopping in select states to visit with and ride with old and new friends along the way.  From our west to east and back west travels we stopped in New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico & Arizona before returning home to CA. Hey everyone,

                           I have been kind of in hiatus or a few weeks while sick with pneumonia. I am finally feeling healthy and strong again.  Once I was back on my feet and functioning I received a call from my buddy Nhan Vo to come do some work for a music video in Los Angeles.  I wasn’t aware of what I was going into but I’ve heard great things about international music director Colin Tilley. Director of previous videos with artists including  Chris Brown, Soulja Boy, Ciara, The Turf Stars and more. Colin Tilleys latest creation is the video “Look at me know” featuring rap superstars Chris Brown LiL Wayne and Busta Rhymes. The video also includes some stunt riding by my good friend Kyle Rapport. Catch it on youtube or on BET and MTV.

This particular video I showed up for was for a British rapper by the name of Chipmunk and featured American artist Kari Hilson. Coming together to perform the song  “In The Air” from Chipmunks sophomore album “Transition” due over seas April 18^th.

It was a pretty long grueling night in L.A. with lots going on. The weather was intermittent with showers and cold temperatures. I have production experience with the shows that I have been a part of Superbikes and Stealth Rider. However those television shows mostly feature Team No Limit. In the music video I was a stunt double for the Artist Chipmunk . So until it was time to do my part it was hurry up and wait process.  After five hours and some coordination my motorcycle was used for a concert scene and four hours later around three in the morning we were on to the good stuff.  The motorcycle gear the producer chooses for me to wear included a helmet with a clear face shield. Only problem was that they asked for some close up shots and I just didn’t quite fit the part anymore. The artist that I am doubling is a light skin black male and I am not. They decided to send me to makeup and transform me. I came out looking darker but not quite black or even light skinned black. I looked like I had a really funky spray tan.  Oh well I had to fit the part or the whole scene would most likely be cut out. It gave my friends a real good laugh.

By 3:30 a.m. we were cruising through the streets of downtown with one expensive production truck. The truck had a jib and a pretty expensive camera on a control arm that maneuvered just about any direction needed.  Once we discussed what shots were needed I got to decide what stunts would be done. Taking into consideration that I was on a public L.A. street with about 12 other motorcycles following behind me, we got to work. With my experience in tracking shots from StealthRider I managed to deliver some up close shots to the camera at about 30-40 mph 5-10 feet off the back of the truck at times, some burnouts and some stoppies. We tracked through some familiar streets that I rode through during the StealthRider shoots.  I rode my black and red Kawasaki zx6r street bike which made things a bit more difficult to perform on stock size gearing but I was prepared to ride any bike they choose.

We managed to make several runs through our permitted route and get the footage we needed and we returned to the base camp just around sunrise.  My motorcycle was used for another sequence of shots with the artist on it so my day was yet to be over. By the time we finished up it turned into a 14 hour shoot. I was happy to wash my face and get the makeup out of my eyes. I had a good time and met some great people. These types of things usually equal long hours and lots of work for a few seconds of stunt footage. It’s all worth it in the end. I hope to do it again.

Whats up everyone. This week I have decided to write a little bit about HTmoto.

My rear passenger seat has a cone shaped foot rest that is built of high density foam. It eliminates the need for a metal heel plate which can be very dangerous during a crash. I’d much rather be hit with some high density foam rather than a metal plate. This setup takes a bit more work to create so you can expect a little increase on price.

HTmoto also specializes in a very durrable hydroturf/grip. Tested in the ocean, raced with at 100mph + on the track and used and abused by us stunt riders. This stuff is the real deal. I have personally used everything from glue to griptape and more and HTmotos custom grip kits are by far the best.  Available is a variety of colors and kits you can find what suits your riding the best.  You can find some grip for your knees that are applied to the sides of your gas tank or you can find a full top tank stunt grip that comes precut to accomodate the gas cap.

  The description itself is confusing enough to most. Performing this trick gets even more confusing. The danger factor is enough to make most riders watching this video cringe. Trust me when I tell you that I was cringing myself while trying to pull it off. In order to reach the revlimiter Ii had to feather the clutch just enough to make it slip but not fully disengage the motor. This keeps the engine pulling the bike around and allows me to rev the motor. Meantime having to work the hand brake with my middle finger and maintain balance. One slight slip of the clutch and I could be in for a world of hurt.  Why would i do such a thing? It’s one of those tricks I have had on my mind for over a year. I wasn’t sure how it would end and never felt confident about it. I have never seen any other rider in the world perform this trick either.  I like to be an innovative rider, deliver new things to the sport.

Hello everybody and welcome to my blog. This week I have decided to inform you guys about Kleen Chain Synthethic Chain Lube. Maintenance to our motorcycles is extremely important. With a little bit of time and products we can keep our motorcycles running smooth and safe, get us from point A to point B with no problems and extend the life of our bikes components.
